I finally got around to test my macro setup and so far I'm quite pleased with it. A proper tripod with a geared head and a 4-way slider makes macro shooting a lot more fun and rewarding.
(For those who care: Nikon D7100 with Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens and Nikon R1 Macro Speedlight, ISO200, 1/60sec, f/16, no crop)
